Trauma therapy with a clinical psychologist
Trauma is not only a word for the most extreme events. It can follow accidents, loss, violence, medical experiences, or long periods of feeling unsafe. People look for trauma therapy when memories, nightmares, numbness, or sudden reactions are still running the day. Care here is paced and confidential — not forced retelling.
How trauma can show up
Some people relive moments. Others feel cut off, jumpy, ashamed, or unable to trust. Sleep, relationships, and concentration often suffer. You do not have to label your experience as PTSD to deserve support.
A first session focuses on safety and what you want from counselling. You will not be asked to tell the whole story before you are ready.
The approach at Manovistaar
Dr. Neha Malik has experience with evidence-based therapies for trauma as well as anxiety and depression, which often travel together. The work is collaborative: understanding triggers, calming the body, and building responses that feel more within your control.
Online trauma counselling can work when you have a private, stable space. If dissociation, self-harm, or crisis is present, in-person or specialist services may be more appropriate. This website is not an emergency line; use local emergency services or Tele-MANAS 14416 if you are in danger.
Questions people ask
Do I have to talk about the traumatic event in the first session?
No. A first session is usually about what is happening now, what you need to feel safer, and whether this practice is a good fit. You set the pace.
