Is online therapy effective in India?
Online therapy is a video conversation with a psychologist from a private room at home. It is not a clinic visit, a chat bot, or an emergency line. For anxiety, low mood, overthinking, and many relationship concerns, a structured video session can be as useful as sitting in an office — if you have privacy and a stable connection.
What “effective” means here
Effectiveness is whether you can speak openly, feel understood, and leave with a clearer next step. Studies of video therapy for common concerns such as anxiety and depression generally find results similar to in-person talk therapy when the same kind of work is done.
What matters more than the screen is the fit with the psychologist, showing up regularly, and being in a space where you will not be overheard.
Who online sessions suit
Video therapy suits people who want confidentiality without a waiting room, who live away from a psychologist, who travel, or who simply prefer to attend from home. At Manovistaar there is no walk-in clinic. The practice is online-only.
It is a weaker fit if you have no private room, very unstable internet, or you are in a crisis that needs emergency or hospital care. This website is not a crisis service. Contact local emergency services or Tele-MANAS on 14416 if you are in immediate danger.
How a Manovistaar session works
A consultation is ₹700 for 45 minutes. You book a slot, pay online when payment is on, and receive a confirmation email. The video link is shared by email or WhatsApp. See online therapy and what happens in the first session.
